Country Chicken

    A delicious creamy chicken dish that is sure to please all the family.

    • 8 - 12 Chicken drumsticks or chicken thigh with bone in.
    • 250mls of cream
    • 1 red onion
    • 1 cup of mushrooms
    • 5 - 6 sage leaves
    • 1 cube of chicken stock ( DRY)
    • salt and pepper to season


    1. Pre heat the oven to 160 degrees
    2. Place chicken into a 30cm baking dish
    3. Cover the chicken with the cream, mushrooms, onions, sage and crush the chicken stock all over the dish so it covers the whole thing. Season with salt and pepper
    4. Place into oven and cook on low ( 160) for 2 hours
    5. Once the chicken starts to come away from the bones ( normally at the end of the drumstick remove from oven.
    6. Serve with veggies and mash, or over rice. Use the gravy in the bottom of your dish and cover it over your chicken. Serve with fresh parsley, and salt and pepper.


    Thyme can be used as well.
