    1. Preheat oven to 175 deg C.
    2. Place butternut pumpkin, cut sides down, in a baking dish. Pour water into dish around pumpkin halves, about 1cm up the sides.
    3. Bake in the preheated oven until tender and easily pierced with a fork, about 1 1/2 hours. Carefully remove the skin with a fork; it should be very easy to remove. Top pumpkin halves with butter and season with salt and pepper to taste.

    Cook's Note:

To cook a large butternut pumpkin takes 90 minutes. If you have a smaller pumpkin, adjust the baking time.

This was super easy, tasted great I enjoyed it. I did not peel, which made it a little harder to eat. Water? I let water cover about 1/3 of the half squash. I didn't taste salt, but pepper made a difference. Thank you.  -  10 Sep 2017  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)
