    Easy Mac 'n' Cheese

This is a recipe I was given a year or two ago, but it was a bit bland originally so I've added my own embellishments.

    Serves: 4

    • 350g pasta
    • 50g butter
    • 2 tablespoons plain flour
    • 12g chicken stock powder (or 2 cubes)
    • garlic powder, to taste
    • 2 cups (500ml) milk
    • grated cheese to taste (can be any type of cheese)

    Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:30min  ›  Ready in:45min

    1. Cook pasta in a large saucepan of boiling water until al dente.
    2. Melt butter in a medium saucepan and add flour. Stir over medium-low heat then add chicken stock and garlic powder.
    3. Gradually add milk, stirring until smooth. Continue to stir until the mixture boils, then reduce heat and simmer for two minutes.
    4. Remove from heat, add desired amount of cheese and stir until melted.
    5. Drain pasta and return to saucepan. Mix in cheese sauce.

Different pasta types change the serving amounts. I've found that Penne makes a single batch go the furthest.
