Brigadeiro Escurinho (Brazilian Chocolate Sweets)

    15 minutes

This version of brigadeiro is made with cocoa powder and is much less sweet than the original version.

    3 people made this

    Serves: 15

    • 1 (400g) tin sweetened condensed milk
    • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
    • 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
    • chocolate sprinkles for rolling

    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:15min

    1. In a heavy saucepan, add condensed milk, butter and cocoa powder then cook over medium heat. (Reduce the heat if you use a thin-bottomed saucepan.)
    2. Stir constantly until you reach the right consistency, one minute after it starts to pull away from the sides of the pan and the bottom.
    3. Pour the mixture into a greased plate, let cool and, with buttered hands, shape into small balls and roll in chocolate sprinkles.

Very easy and quick to make, since I had no chocolate “hundreds and thousands” I use cocoa powder as is frequently found in shops, they are still cooling but the mixture is delicious and not too sweet as suggested.  -  31 Mar 2018  (Review from Allrecipes UK & Ireland)
