Preheat oven to 200 degrees C. Lightly grease a 20cm square baking tin.
In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar and vanilla together. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Sift cornflour with cocoa powder and salt then add to the wet mixture. Beat slowly with a wooden spoon, until all ingredients are incorporated. Add chopped chocolate and mix again. Let mixture rest for 5 minutes.
Pour the brownie mixture into the baking tin then bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes.
