Chocolate and Ricotta Cake

    Serves: 6 

    • 300g ricotta cheese
    • 100g caster sugar
    • 3 eggs
    • 300g plain flour
    • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
    • 100g butter, melted
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 200g dark chocolate, chopped

    Preparation:20min  ›  Cook:30min  ›  Ready in:50min 

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C and grease and flour a 23cm round cake tin.
    2. Whisk together the ricotta and sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well between each addition.
    3. Sift the flour and baking powder into the ricotta mixture. Stir well until no dry spots remain. Finally, stir in the butter, vanilla and chopped chocolate. Tip mixture into the prepared tin.
    4. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean. Cool in the tin and serve slightly warm or at room temperature.

    I made this recipe but put them into muffin tins and added a gauche to the top was still as nice  -  19 Mar 2017

    What is wrong with this recipe I bake a ridiculous amount than I noted while putting all the ingredients together that someone left a big ingredient out other wise u could have made pizza dough out of this recipe I had to than figure out how not to waste the ingredients so I added a cup of milk an extra 3/4 cup sugar honey and raspberry extract might be wise if you review recipes before u post them so people don’t waste their money  -  23 Jun 2018  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)
