Italian Sausage and Cheese Scones

This is a fun twist on a classic, the savoury scone. With the added cheese and sausage, these buttery bites are great for any occasion.

Makes: 1 batch

  • 2 cups instant pancake mix
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup ground Italian sausage
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter, for top

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:25min 

  1. Preheat the oven to 230 degrees C.
  2. Pour pancake mix into a mixing bowl, add the almond milk add butter then mix. (you can melt the butter first if you prefer, but it will all melt into goodness eventually)
  3. Fold in the cheese and sausage.
  4. Use a large spoon to drop scones onto an ungreased baking sheet. Brush the melted butter on the top for added butteryness.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes. They are done when the tops are golden.
