This homemade dog food is a sardine and liver blend which I feed as a meal to a 7kg cavalier spaniel. This meal is rich in omegas from the sardines and packed with nutrients from the raw liver. As there are no raw bones in this meal, I supplement with a little human grade bone meal to achieve a good calcium to phosphorous ratio. All supplements below have been formulated for dogs.

Serves: 1

  • 2 sardines
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh spinach
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped apple (no pips)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped organic grass fed beef liver
  • 1/4 teaspoon human grade bone meal
  • 1/4 teaspoon organic dried kelp
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped carrot
  • 1/2 teaspoon fish oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon liquid K-9 glucosamine

Preparation:5min  ›  Ready in:5min

  1. Place the sardines in a bowl and mash. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Serve.

When feeding your dog a homemade diet, it is good practice to serve a multivitamin each day.
