This is a fabulous tried and tested tiramisu recipe for when you want a really good result but don't have a lot of time to spare. I use ready-made custard - so much easier! Allow about four hours to set before eating.

Ingredients
Serves: 8
300ml to 400ml strong fresh coffee
200ml Marsala wine
1 (200g) packet lady fingers
200ml thickened cream
300g to 400g fresh vanilla custard
500g mascarpone cheese
cocoa powder, to dust
1 Cadbury Flake, crumbled
Directions Preparation:20min › Extra time:4hours cooling › Ready in:4hours20min
Begin by mixing half of the coffee with the Marsala in a shallow dish. Arrange the lady fingers across the bottom of a 26cm round dish. Carefully spoon the coffee and Marsala mixture over the lady fingers, adding just enough to make the lady fingers saturated, but still able to hold their shape.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk the cream until fluffy then add in the custard and marscarpone and mix well. Spoon half of the mixture over the first layer of lady fingers and smooth to the edges. Add a generous dusting of cocoa powder.
Top up the coffee dish with the remaining coffee if necessary. To lay this second layer, you will need to dip the lady fingers by hand then transport over to the tiramisu dish. Leave soaking just long enough to become saturated but hold their shape. Arrange over the layer of mascarpone. Add a second, final layer of mascarpone and smooth the top. Cover with a generous dusting of cocoa powder followed by the broken crumbled chocolate bar.
Chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours prior to serving.
