This hearty and comforting chicken and vegetable pie is made from scratch using good quality ingredients. The centrepiece to a casual meal with friends, enjoy this pie with some baked potatoes and some seasonal steamed greens.
I do not find it necessary to cut vents in this pie, but feel free to do so.
With the pastry scraps you have left over, why not make them into a nice decoration like cutting them into leaf shapes, hearts or stars.
Made this for the first time tonight. I have my own recipe for the pastry as my son likes flaky pastry for pies. The only change I made was I used flour & not cornflour to thicken the sauce & put a little bit of mustard powder in it. I left out the hot chilli flakes only because some of us can't have anything hot or spicy. I didn't have sweetcorn but mushrooms done the job. The family loved the fact there was fresh cream in the sauce so i will definitely be using this recipe in future. Best sauce for a pie I've come across so far. Makes a nice change from tinned soup in most of the recipes. This is a keeper. Thanks for the recipe. - 17 Dec 2015 (Review from Allrecipes UK & Ireland)
