Blackberry Pie

My daughter picked a load of blackberries so we had the perfect excuse to make a blackberry pie, the end of summer doesn't taste any better than this! The berries do release a lot of juice but I didn't hear any complaints.

I have just made this pie and it is gorgeous. My own pastry recipe is going in the bin. It was very easy to roll out and perfectly crispy on the bottom when cooked. There was just the right amount of sugar for me both in the pastry and the filling. I actually used 6 small tinfoil dishes and will freeze some of them. Brilliant. Thanks.

It was brilliant. My whole family liked it. I used home-picked Raspberry's instead of Blackberry's, they worked brilliantly. I also used 17g of icing sugar instead of 30g in the pastry and it was still VERY tasty. For my first attempt at a fruit pie -instead of a crumble- it came out very well. The instructions were completely accurate too, so well done to Ita. Great recipe, will make it again!

We came back with a load of blackberries from a walk, and I came across this easy recipe, with everyday cupboard ingredients. I used caster sugar instead of icing, but no one seemed to complain. Cooking time was slightly longer than stated ( another 15 mins) to get a good colour. The finished item had a definite rustic look to it but was well received all around! Lovely with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

i absolutely love this recipe- i find it useful to use frozen berries intead of fresh ones because they release less juice but still taste amazing. The pastry is a little tricky to roll out but is generally crisp and tastes amazing! the great thing about this recipe is that you can substitute the berries for absolutely ANYTHING! i used blueberry and blackberries and it tasted gorgeous

My husband, me and my daughter picked a load of fresh blackberries, so needed a nice recipe for them, so I chose this one. This recipe is so easy, you cannot go wrong really, the recipe for the shortcrust pasty is great and now I use this to make shortcrust pastry, why buy it, when it's so easy to make. The pie took a little longer to cook, about 40 mins in the end in my fan oven but the result was a pie that was superb, yum yum, and there was loads of lovely juice in the pie.

...Do you cook the blackberries? I don't understand how you 'pour' the blackberries. Please clarify this part xx
