A friend of mine gave me a slow cooker and I was so keen to it try it out that I basically just browned off some cubes of stewing steak, added them to the slow cooker with a diced onion and poured over a few tins of chopped tomatoes. Six hours later, we sat down to the most tender beef stew I've eaten in a long time!
Had some brisket I didn't know what to do with and a crowd of people for dinner. I followed the recipe exactly but, as I had 2 kg thickly sliced brisket, I used three tins of tomatoes and doubled the onions. Everybody raved about it and I am making it again today. - 17 Jul 2017
