Bacon, Cheese and Garlic Bubble Bread (Yeast Free)

    A tasty addition to your dinners or barbecues. Little balls of dough, filled with bacon and cheese then rolled in garlic butter. When cooked you have easy to pull apart bread.

    Serves: 6 

    • 4 cups self raising flour
    • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
    • 1 tablespoon sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 6 rashers short cut bacon, diced
    • 1 1/2 cups tasty cheese, grated
    • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
    • 1 egg
    • 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 cups milk
    • garlic butter, melted

    1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Use a non stick bundt tin or cake tin.
    2. Place the flour and butter in a large bowl, using 2 knives, cut the butter into the flour. Add the sugar, salt, bacon and both of the cheeses.
    3. Mix the egg in with 1 1/2 cups of milk then stir the milk into the flour mix. Add the rest of the milk if needed.
    4. Turn onto a floured board and knead lightly. Roll heaped tablespoons of dough into balls and roll in the garlic butter. Place the balls into the bundt tin.
    5. Cook in the preheated oven for about 20 - 25 minutes or until brown on top and cooked through. Serve warm with butter.
