    Although I generally think drinking beer is the best use for it, I quite like this beer batter and think it is worth the sacrifice.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 2/3 cup plain flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 1/2 cups (375ml) beer
    • 1 egg, whisked
    • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

    Directions
    Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:30min 

    1. Preheat your deep fryer to 180 degrees C.
    2. In a bowl mix sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
    3. In a separate bowl beat together the beer, egg and oil.
    4. Stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and stir until smooth.
    5. Dip the fish into the beer batter then add to the preheated deep fryer and cook until golden.
