This is the crumble topping that is a family favourite, the fruit under it changes from season to season, and sometimes includes tinned fruit, but the topping always remains the same.

Makes: 1 crumbles worth of topping

  • 100g plain flour
  • 55g butter
  • 20g oats
  • 25g caster sugar
  • 20g brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  1. Using fingertips rub together the flour and butter until it resembles breadcrumbs.
  2. Stir in the oats, caster sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Place the the crumble topping on the fruit combination you choose and cook until the fruit is soft and the crumble is brown.
