Garlic Butter Prawns

Prawns quick cooked in butter, spices and garlic and served with the sauce. Serve with lots of bread on the side.

Serves: 2 

  • Spice mix
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Prawns
  • 24 large prawns, heads removed
  • 120g unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup seafood stock
  • 1/4 cup beer

Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:5min  ›  Ready in:15min 

  1. In a small bowl combine the spice mix ingredients.
  2. In a large frypan, combine butter, garlic, Worcestershire sauce and spice mix over high heat. When butter has melted, add the prawns. Cook 2 minutes, shaking the frypan.
  3. Add stock and cook, shaking, 2 more minutes. Add beer and cook 1 more minute. Serve immediately.
