A traditional soup of Portugal, cabbage and sausage are simmered in potato stock providing a delicious and nutritious meal for cold days.


Serves: 4 

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 2 litres water
  • 2 tablespoons grated onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 250g smoked sausage, sliced
  • 500g cabbage, thinly sliced
  • salt, to taste

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:50min  ›  Ready in:1hour5min 

  1. Boil the potatoes in two litres water over medium heat until very soft. Let cool and blend with the cooking water until smooth.
  2. Reheat, add the onion, garlic and sausage then simmer 10 minutes.
  3. Turn off heat and add the cabbage. Mix well and serve hot.
