A very simple recipe for king prawns sauteed in garlic, with the shells left on for best flavour. Good with a fresh baguette for an easy lunch.


Serves: 3 

  • 300g king prawns, shell on
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1 onion shallot, finely diced
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 lemon, cut into 8

  1. Rinse the prawns and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high temperature and fry the prawns on all sides. As soon as they are pink, lower the heat and add the garlic and shallot. Stir occasionally about 5 minutes until shallot is soft.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil and serve with lemon wedges.
