Spicy Braised Cabbage

    Serves: 2 

    • olive oil spray
    • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
    • 1 fresh red chilli, chopped
    • 1 clove garlic, sliced
    • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
    • 100g red cabbage, shredded
    • 4 tablespoons water
    • 1 teaspoon desiccated coconut

    Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. Spray a wok or frying pan with olive oil and put on a medium to low heat.
    2. Add onion, chilli, garlic, ginger and turmeric to pan and cook for 5 minutes, until onion has softened. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
    3. Add cabbage and water, cover and cook for 10 minutes until cooked.
    4. Stir in coconut to serve.


    If the lid to your pan is not very tight fitting, you may need to add a little more water during cooking, to prevent sticking.
