A very sweet little dessert which is perfect at Christmas. Kids like to decorate the little chocolate squares to look like the game of dominoes.


Makes: 24 dominoes

  • Base:
  • 110g butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups sweet digestive biscuit crumbs
  • 1/2 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1/2 cup pecans, diced
  • Vanilla cream
  • 60g butter
  • 2 teaspoons instant vanilla pudding
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 2 cups icing sugar
  • Frosting
  • 90g baking chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon butter

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Stir in the sugar, cocoa, vanilla, egg, crumbs, coconut and pecans. Press mixture into a 20cm square tin.
  2. Vanilla cream:

  3. Beat the butter until creamy. Stir in the instant pudding, milk and icing sugar. Add more icing sugar if needed, it should not be too liquid.
  4. Set aside 1/4 cup of the cream and spread the rest over the base. Chill 1-2 hours.
  5. Frosting:

  6. Melt the chocolate and butter together. Spread over the cooled cream. Chill until chocolate is set.
  7. Cut into squares and use remaining cream to decorate like dominoes.
