Easy Chocolate Pecan Tart

Just the basics here, chocolate, cream and nuts! So easy to make, and even better if you want to make your own pastry.


Makes: 1 tart

  • 1 sheet sweet shortcrust pastry
  • 220g dark chocolate
  • 150g pecans (or walnuts)
  • 400ml single cream

Preparation:30min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Extra time:2hours chilling  ›  Ready in:2hours50min 

  1. Roll out the pastry to fit your tart tin and trim the edges. Prick all over with a fork and place in the fridge 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
  2. Bake 20 minutes, then let cool.
  3. Melt the chocolate with a little water in the microwave or a double boiler. Stir in the pecans, leaving a few to garnish.
  4. Bring the cream to a simmer then pour over the chocolate, whisking until smooth. Pour over the base and decorate with remaining pecans. Chill in the fridge until set.
