Crispy Cherry Biscuits

    Delicious little crispy biscuits, each with a half glace cherry in the centre. Elegant and good for guests.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 10 

    • 125g margarine or butter
    • 60g caster sugar
    • 2 drops vanilla essence
    • 125g plain flour
    • 5-8 glace cherries, halved

    Directions
    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:15min 

    1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Cream the margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the flour and the vanilla.
    2. Roll into little balls and flatten slightly. Press half cherry into the centre of ball, and place on a greased baking tray.
    3. Bake for 10-15 minutes. Cool on a wire cooling rack.

    Used different ingredients. Try adding about 50grams of slivered almonds to the mix as an optional extra. A very nice biscuit either way though.  -  07 Apr 2010
