You can buy red bean paste in Chinese markets. You have probably eaten it in steamed buns but it's also excellent in crepes.


Serves: 3 

  • 100g flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 150ml milk
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • premade red bean paste
  • oil, for frying

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:30min 

  1. In a bowl, combine flour, salt and eggs. Gradually beat in milk to make a batter. Add oil and mix well.
  2. Brush a non-stick frypan with oil. Pour in enough batter to make a small crepe. Flip once cooked on one side, then transfer to a plate.
  3. Add red bean paste to the centre and fold up like an envelope. Reheat in the frypan until golden, then cut into slices and serve.
