This broth is perfect for when you are under the weather, spicy but easy to drink. It's also a good basis for vegetable soups.


Serves: 3 

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 stock cube
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 allspice berries
  • pinch marjoram
  • pinch curry powder
  • 3 peppercorns
  • pinch tarragon
  • pinch thyme
  • 1/2 cup rice
  • salt, to taste

Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:25min 

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, stock and all the spices. Bring to a simmer.
  2. In a separate saucepan, bring salted water to a boil. Add rice and cook until tender, then drain.
  3. Divide the rice between 3 bowls, add strained broth and serve.
