Clean the pumpkin then cut it into cubes and simmer it with a little water in a large saucepan for about 20 minutes or until it is softened and falling apart.
In a saucepan heat the oil then saute the garlic and chilli. Add the pumpkin, salt and oregano then cook for a few minutes to let flavours combine. If necessary add a ladle of hot water.
In the meantime boil the linguine in salted water until al dente.
Combine the linguine and pumpkin sauce then serve.
