You can use any berries or fruit you wish. They can either be fresh or frozen. Another option is to put a crumble mixture on top of the berries.
This was a promising recipe and the batter looked good. However, it made way too much batter for a 22cm pan. Combined with an unnecessary instruction to set the oven to ' fan forced', the cake overflowed and was dark and overcooked on the outside long before the centre set. I will try it again in a wide, shallow pan at least 25 x 35 x 5cm. using a gentle slow bake at 160°C regular, not forced. - 19 Aug 2017
