Custard Eggnog


    Here's a different kind of eggnog made with white wine and custard powder. You will never have such a rich and delicious Christmas drink!

    Serves: 4 

    • 2 cups (500ml) white wine
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
    • pinch cinnamon
    • 50g icing sugar
    • 4 tablespoons rum
    • 1 packet instant custard powder
    • 3 egg, separated

    1. Heat the wine in a saucepan but do not boil. Stir in the vanilla sugar, cinnamon and icing sugar.
    2. In a bowl, combine the rum with the custard powder and egg yolks. Beat until smooth. Add the egg whites and beat vigorously.
    3. Slowly pour the hot wine into this mixture, beating well. Serve immediately.
