We served these for a Christmas Eve party and they were delicious! The secret is to remove them from the oven before they dry out.


Serves: 4 

  • 300g medium mushrooms, stems removed
  • 6 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 4 tablespoons Gruyere cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons Fontina cheese, grated
  • 4 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • pinch nutmeg

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
  2. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with the grated cheeses and breadcrumbs (reserve 1 tablespoon grated cheese). Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
  3. Use a spoon to stuff the mushrooms, being careful not to overfill. Place on a baking tray and sprinkle with remaining grated cheese. Bake 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
