Prawn Cocktail Starter

    The classic prawn cocktail garnished with a tangy tomato sauce, paprika and lemon wedges. A favourite at parties.

    • 200g shelled prawns
    • 1 crisp lettuce
    • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
    • Sauce
    • 100g mayonaise
    • 20g tomato sauce
    • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce (to taste)
    • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
    • Garnish
    • 1 lemon
    • 4 whole prawns
    • 1 teaspoon paprike

    Preparation:10min  ›  Ready in:10min 

    1. Cut up the lettuce into small pieces and place in bowls or on small plates.
    2. Season the shelled prawns with salt and pepper and place on the bed of lettuce.
    3. Drizzle two tablespoons of lemon juice over the prawns and lettuce.
    4. Mix together the mayonnaise, the tomato sauce, the Worcestershire sauce and the rest of the lemon juice. Add more tomato sauce and Worcestershire sauce to taste.
    5. Pour the sauce over the prawns.
    6. Cut the lemon into 4 segments and use to garnish the dish.
    7. Sprinkle a small amount of paprika to finish.
