Spicy Chicken Wings, Part Grilled, Part Slow Cooked

    For browned yet super tender wings, grill them and then cook them in honey barbecue sauce in the slow cooker.

    Makes: 40 wings

    • 30-40 chicken wings
    • salt and pepper, to taste
    • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
    • 2 teaspoons chilli powder
    • 375ml bbq sauce
    • 4 tablespoons honey
    • 2 teaspoons mustard
    • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 onion, sliced

    1. Preheat grill to high. Remove most of the skin from the wings, rinse and pat dry.
    2. Place wings on a baking tray lined with aluminium foil. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder and chilli powder.
    3. Grill wings 10cm from heat source, 10 minutes a side or until browned.
    4. Meanwhile, mix remaining ingredients and slice the onion into thick slices.
    5. Place wings in the slow cooker, pour the sauce over the wings and lay onion slices on top. Cook on high 2-3 hours or low 6 hours.
