Smokey Barbecue Chicken Wings

    Honey chicken wings are a perfect footy snack and always a hit at a barbecue. Serve with more bbq sauce for dipping if you like.

    Serves: 4 

    • zest and juice of 1 lime
    • 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
    • 1 tablespoon honey
    • 1 teaspoon cayenne
    • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
    • 8 tablespoons BBQ sauce
    • 12 large chicken wings

    1. Combine the lime juice, zest, sugar, honey, cayenne, ginger and BBQ sauce in a large bowl and stir well.
    2. Add the wings and stir to coat thoroughly. Cover the bowl and chill in the fridge about 2 hours.
    3. Place wings on a rack and roast at 200 degrees C for 25 minutes, or barbecue until nicely browned. Turn a couple of times to cook evenly. Serve hot.

    absolutely ace. a superbowl must though we cooked for much longer adding the sauce back over every 15mins for an hour and a half giving wonderful sticky glaze.  -  28 Dec 2013  (Review from Allrecipes UK & Ireland)
