Flavored with cinnamon, this applesauce is a delicious fruity dessert to serve warm or cold with biscuits.


Serves: 4 

  • 2 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 8 granny apples, peeled, cut into pieces
  • 2-3 teaspoons cinnamon, to taste

  1. In a saucepan, heat the sugar and water over a medium heat. Add apples, stirring occasionally, then cover the saucepan.
  2. Simmer for 15-20 minutes while watching so that the saucepan does't start to boil.
  3. Pour into a large bowl then crush the apples until pureed. Be careful not to make it too creamy.
  4. Sprinkle cinnamon on the sauce to taste then mix well. Serve warm or cold.
