A quick and delicious apple tart recipe for any occasion. Ideal for when you receive unexpected visitors.


Serves: 8 

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 100g butter, room temperature
  • 3 apples
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Grease and flour a medium pie tin.
  2. In a bowl add the butter and sugar then beat well. Add the flour while beating until it forms granules.
  3. Put half the butter mixture in the pie tin and press down.
  4. Peel, core and cut the apples into slices then place over the base. Sprinkle with the other half of the butter mixture.
  5. Beat the egg with the milk then pour over the pie.
  6. Bake in the pre-heated oven for 20 minutes.
