Kim's Tasty Healthy MultiGrain & More Bread Machine Recipe

    I adjusted an existing recipe to make it more of what I was looking for in taste and with the addition of healthy ingredients for my family … who aren’t big on eating healthy ingredients so I need to hide them :)

    Makes: 1 loaf

    • 1 cup hot water
    • 1/2 cup almond milk (or any nut milk you fancy)
    • 2 tablespoons caster sugar
    • 1 teaspoons dried yeast
    • 4 tablespoons olive oil
    • 3 cups (375g) plain flour *or* 1 1/2 cups multigrain flour + 1 1/2 cups plain flour
    • 1 1/2 tablespoons powdered milk
    • 2 teaspoons chia seeds (I use black but black or white would be fine)
    • 2 teaspoons quinoa flakes
    • 1 teaspoon salt

    1. Place the water, sugar and yeast in the pan of the bread machine. Let the yeast dissolve and foam for 10 minutes.
    2. Next, add the oil, then the flour and the remaining ingredients. *Good rule of thumb with bread machine recipes: add ingredients from wet at the bottom of the pan to dry at the top of the pan. *
    3. Select Basic or White Bread setting then press Start.


    Turns out beautifully soft inside (but still easy to cut for sandwiches), full of healthy yummy things and delish! Milk powder is optional but recommended to add that extra flavour and crispness to the crust.
