Spaghetti and Meatballs

    This is a really simple homemade pasta sauce with homemade meatballs served on spaghetti. Kids love it and they eat even more if you get them to help roll the meatballs.

    Makes: 12 meat balls

    • Meatballs
    • 500g beef mince
    • 1 egg, lightly whisked
    • 1/4 breadcrumbs
    • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
    • 1 tablespoon Italian herb mix
    • salt and pepper, to taste
    • Sauce
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 2 gloves garlic, crushed
    • 1 tin (800g) diced tomatoes
    • Spaghetti
    • 4 serves spaghetti

    1. Meatballs: Mix the mince, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic, herb mix, salt and pepper in a large bowl.
    2. Shape the mixture into small sized meatballs then place on a baking tray. Place into an oven preheated to 180 degrees C and bake for 25 minutes.
    3. Sauce: In a large saucepan on medium heat add the olive oil and garlic, when fragrant add the diced tomatoes and simmer.
    4. Spaghetti: Cook the spaghetti as per the packets instructions.
    5. To Assemble: Add the cooked meatballs to the tomato sauce. Add the cooked pasta and stir to coat the pasta with the sauce. Serve to a pasta bowl to eat.
