Banana Nutella Scrolls

    I double rise these. They start off in a bread maker for 2 hours and finish in the oven after being prepared and risen again. Totally yummy, nutella banana flavour with nutella icing. Delish. Worth the wait.

    Makes: 16 scrolls

    • Scrolls
    • 1 cup warm milk
    • 1/2 cup canola oil
    • 2 eggs
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 4 cups plain flour
    • 1 heaped teaspoon bread improver
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 3 teaspoons dry yeast
    • 10 tablespoons Nutella (filling)
    • 6 medium bananas (filling)
    • Icing
    • 4 cups icing sugar
    • 2 heaped tablespoon Nutella
    • milk, as required

    1. Scrolls: Place all ingredients (except bananas and nutella) in the above order into bread machine.
    2. Set machine to sweet then let the dough mix and rise in machine (about 2 hours). Dough should be almost at the top of the tin.
    3. Preheat the oven to warm, about 100 degrees C.
    4. Punch the dough down and tip out onto a floured board. Roll out the dough to about 1/2 cm thick rectangle (you should get 16 scrolls )
    5. Spread Nutella over dough, leaving the edges free then cover Nutella with banana.
    6. Starting on long side, roll up dough. Cut into 16 pieces.
    7. Place pieces on a large baking tray lined with baking paper and cover with a tea towel.
    8. Open oven and place tray on door. Leave for an hour to rise.
    9. Remove tray, shut door and turn oven temperature up to 180 degrees C.
    10. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes or until nicely brown
    11. Add icing when cold.
    12. Icing: Mix all the ingredients together , adding enogh milk until 'spreadable' then spread on scrolls.
