Stewed Apple and Cinnamon

    This is a simple recipe to make stewed apple and cinnamon, once made it can be served with ice cream, as a pie filling or a crumble added to the top and then baked.

    Serves: 4 

    • 6 Granny Smith apples
    • 4 tablespoons water
    • 2 tablespoons sugar, or to taste
    • 1 teaspoon cinnamon, or to taste

    1. Peel and dice the apples into about 1 to 2cm cubes making sure all skin and seeds are removed.
    2. Put a small saucepan on a medium heat, add the water. When the water is boiling add about 2 apples worth of the diced apple and put on the lid. (This makes sure there is a good juicy stewed apple sauce to bind the less cooked apples).
    3. When the apples start to soften add the remaining apples and return the lid.
    4. When the apple is reaching your desired firmness, taste the stewed apples. Add sugar and cinnamon until your desired taste is reached.
