Fusilli with Italian Sausage

    A quick and spicy pasta recipe, perfect for when you don't have the time to make a full on meat sauce.

    Serves: 4 

    • 400g fusilli pasta
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 1/2 onion, diced
    • 1 carrot, diced
    • 1 celery stalk, diced
    • 120g Italian sausage, casings removed
    • 1/4 cup red wine
    • To garnish
    • fresh basil
    • grated Parmesan

    1. Cook the fusilli until al dente.
    2. Meanwhile, heat the oil and butter in a frypan and cook the onion, carrot and celery for 5 minutes.
    3. Add the crumbled sausage and cook until the sausage meat is browning. Add the red wine and simmer.
    4. Serve the pasta with the sauce, garnished with basil and Parmesan.
