Baked Cinnamon Apples

    A healthy baked apple recipe without any added sugar. The apples provide their own sweetness. A great dessert for the dieters!

    Makes: 6 baked apples

    • 6 apples
    • 100g unsalted butter, softened
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
    • 1 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt

    1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees C.
    2. Carefully core the apples from the top nearly to the bottom but not all the way through.
    3. In a small bowl, combine the butter, cinnamon, cardamom and salt and mix well.
    4. Place about 1 tablespoon of the butter mixture into each apple. Place the apples in a baking tin and bake 40 minutes or until soft. Let cool a bit before serving.
