Baked Caramelised Apples

These apples are lovely as a dessert by themselves or with cream but they are also a great pancake or crepe topping.

Serves: 4 

  • 3 apples, peeled, cored and cut into thick wedges
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup apple juice

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:35min 

  1. Preheat oven to 230 degrees C.
  2. In a baking dish, combine apples, sugar, cinnamon and salt then toss well to coat the apples. Spread them out in a single layer.
  3. Bake 10 minutes until apples are starting to soften. With a spatula, flip them over. Return to the oven and bake five more minutes.
  4. Add the apple juice and stir again. Bake 5 more minutes, until juice is getting syrupy. Remove and let cool before eating.
