Slow Cooker Curry Base

    This is an Indian recipe that makes a base for curry. Once you've made it, all you have to do is add any vegies or chicken and you have a quick curry. It will keep 5 weeks in the fridge.

    Makes: 9 cups curry

    • 1 1/2 kg onions, diced
    • 500g tomatoes, diced
    • 5 teaspoons turmeric
    • 250g ginger, peeled and chopped
    • 24 cloves garlic, peeled
    • 2 tablespoons salt
    • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

    Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:12hours  ›  Ready in:12hours10min 

    1. Place all ingredients in the slow cooker, adding the oil last.
    2. Cook on High for 4 hours. Puree in a blender, return to the slow cooker and cook on High another 8 hours until thick.
