Peppery Strawberry Jam


    Pepper adds an amazing touch to sweet strawberry jam. You can find jarred green peppercorns at the supermarket, they are more subtle and fruity than dried pepper.

    Makes: 3 jars jam

    • 750g strawberries, rinsed and hulled
    • 2 kiwifruit, peeled
    • 500g preserving sugar
    • 1 teaspoon green peppercorns in brine, drained and crushed
    • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper

    1. Finely dice the strawberries and kiwifruit. Place in a saucepan with sugar and simmer 4 minutes until bubbling.
    2. Add the two kinds of pepper and stir well. Pour into hot sterilised jars, seal and let cool.
