This is a simple lemon icing recipe which goes really well on plain cake or butter cake. It's very simple to make, why go to more trouble?

Serves: 6 

  • 220g cream cheese
  • 120g unsalted butter, room temperature
  • pinch salt
  • juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup icing sugar

Preparation:5min  ›  Ready in:5min 

  1. Combine all ingredients and beat until stiff. Cover with plastic wrap and chill until needed.

Something wrong here! Only 1/4 cup icing sugar for all that butter and cream cheese. I used about 4 cups and about half the butter. - 22 Jul 2015
