Spiced Cream Cheese Frosting

    Cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg give a little bit of kick to this classic cream cheese frosting. Perfect on carrot or gingerbread cake.

    Makes: 1 cup icing

    • 170g cream cheese, room temperature
    • 40g unsalted butter, room temperature
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
    • pinch cinnamon
    • pinch ground ginger
    • pinch nutmeg
    • pinch salt
    • 110g icing sugar

    1. With an electric beater, beat together the cream cheese, butter, vanilla, spices and salt. Reduce speed and beat in the icing sugar until well blended, about 3 minutes.
