    This is a simple Morrocan chicken meal that combines chicken pieces with spices, chickpeas and butter beans. So easy to throw together.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
    • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
    • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1 kg chicken legs, cut into drumsticks and thighs
    • 1 onion, finely diced
    • 4 tablespoons coriander, chopped
    • 1 cup tomato sauce
    • 2 tins chickpeas, drained and rinsed
    • 1 tin butter beans, drained and rinsed
    • 1/2 cup water

    Directions

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.
    2. In a casserole dish, melt the butter. Add all the spices and cook for 1 minute. Add chicken, onion and coriander, cover and cook about 10 minutes or until onion is soft.
    3. Add tomato sauce, chickpeas, butter beans and water. Cover and bake in the oven 40 minutes.
