Easy Buttermilk Scones

    I had some buttermilk left in the house and decided to make a batch of scones with it, as I couldn't find a recipe at the time I made this one up.

    Makes: 12 scones

    • 50g margarine
    • 2 cups self raising flour
    • pinch salt
    • 200ml buttermilk

    Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. Preheat an oven to 220 degrees C.
    2. Rub the margarine with your finger tips into the flour and salt to form a breadcrumb type texture.
    3. Add enough buttermilk into the flour to form a light dough.
    4. Turn the dough out onto a floured bench and kneed slightly. Cut round scones.
    5. Place on a floured baking tray then bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.

    Perfect, the best thing about this recipe is that doesn't have sugar!! it's hard to found recipe without sugar. Thanks  -  13 Nov 2017
