Rum Balls

    I have been making this since I was seven and have loved them. This is a great recipe to do with your kids. Messy but fun.

    Serves: 4 

    • 8 weet bix
    • 2 tablespoons cocoa
    • 1 tin condensed milk
    • 2 desertspoons rum
    • 1 cup sultanas
    • coconut, for rolling

    Preparation:15min  ›  Extra time:20min  ›  Ready in:35min 

    1. Crush weet bix and cocoa into a bowl before adding condensed milk and rum.
    2. Using your fingers mix the condensed milk through the weet bix and cocoa for best results.
    3. Add sultanas and mix thoroughly, again with your fingers. Chill mixture for twenty minutes or so to make rolling easier.
    4. Take a teaspoon of mixture and roll into a ball. Roll balls in the coconut until coated and place in secure container.
    5. Chill and ENJOY!!


    These keep for months though they never last that long. Instead of rum I like to use Kahlua or some other liqueur. You can leave the rum out if you don't want to serve it to your kids.
