American Pecan Pie

I love the American pecan pie but most recipes use corn syrup which you can't get in Australia, but then I found this recipe that doesn't need it.

Serves: 8 

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon plain flour
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 cup pecans

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:40min  ›  Ready in:55min 

  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees C.
  2. In a large bowl whisk eggs until foamy then stir in the melted butter. Stir in the brown sugar, white sugar and the flour. Mix well. Finally stir in the milk, vanilla and pecans.
  3. Pour into an unbaked 20cm pie shell. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes at 200 degrees C, then reduce temperature to 170 degrees C and bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until set.
