Easy Slow Cooker Mulled Wine

    This is an easy recipe for mulled wine, put all the ingredients in a slow cooker, leave it then serve it as it stays warm for the whole frosty evening.

    Serves: 12 

    • 2 cups boiling water
    • 2 bottles red wine
    • 1 cup brandy
    • 3/4 cup caster sugar
    • 1 small lemon, washed and sliced
    • 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
    • 2 cinnamon sticks
    • 6 cloves

    1. Add all the ingredients into a slow cooker, stir to dissolve the sugar. Put on high for 1 hour, drop back to low and ladle to cups as required. (You can strain out all the bits but I like to leave them in and let the flavour grow throughout the evening.)
