You don't need to fuss with a beef stew. This takes minimal preparation and is delicious with steamed carrots, if you want to use another pot!

Serves: 4 

  • 1.5 kg chuck steak, cubed
  • 60g plain flour
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 (400g) tin diced tomatoes
  • 1 glass white wine
  • 2 onions, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, diced
  • 1 stick celery
  • 3 medium potatoes, cut into chunks
  • salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:2hours  ›  Ready in:2hours15min 

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
  2. Roll beef in flour mixed with paprika. Put into a casserole dish.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients and cover with a piece of baking paper. Put the lid on and cook without stirring for 2 hours. Check for seasoning and serve.
